Re: Super Cuts

De La Cruz leaves camp with naught but a perfect inning on his record.

Re: Super Cuts

Hildenberger struck out 6 in 2 scoreless innings and I don't think that you can do better than that.

Re: Super Cuts

Mark Vientos sure tried to, putting up a .750 / .875 / 1.250 // 2.125 line.

I wouldn't assume we've heard the last of Hildenburger this year. Possibly not Vientos either.

As someone who remembers the search for a third baseman in the early Mets years, I smile when I see both Vientos and Baty on the top 10 prospects list. A good problem to have.

Mauricio may also end up being a 3B. Especially if Lindor sticks around.

Hildenberger? Mebbe. Vientos? Well, he's 21, hasn't played f'real since September 2019, and hasn't done THAT above full-season A ball. So... assuming you can hear all the way to Binghamton, sure.

Re: Super Cuts

With two of the three half-season teams bumped out, it's really hard to project where any of the players land. There's 70 or more missing spots between GCL and St. Lucie — spots that used to be half-season stints with Kingsport and then (short-season A) Brooklyn. So I imagine some players that are going to find themselves in the GCL who probably felt they left that noise behind two years ago, and others are going to find themselves in St. Lucie or (now full-season high-A) Brooklyn that the team otherwise previously wouldn't have considered ready for the assignment. It may take a bit to iron out the relative levels and how the new standards compare to the old. But what was A and A+ two years ago will not be the same as what they are now.

And dudes may be making MLB debuts with a seeming paucity of minor league experience, as some teams count their non-competitive work in 2020 toward their development.
