Got some fake scallops today from a place I wouldn't expect to sink so low.

Unlabeled as such? That's absolute bunk. Like, worth bringing up to them as a serious breach of trust.

I was led to believe that all scallops are fake. They (the scallop scammers) use a cookie cutter to cut some white fish meat that is not scallops into uniform size and sell them to whomever. I read this somewhere, not from experience.

Cookie cutter scallops or scallops that are uniformly the same height all around and the same circumference is the best tell tale sign that they're fake.

I did complain to store manager, even though I should have known better. He gave me

store credit and some free kimchi. He said the fish guy wasn't run by the store, but that

they sublet the space and was nice enough to say that's still no excuse.

I dug up this thread to say I'm diassapointed we have to still heat the house. It's cold!!

Now you just need something borrowed and something blue.

I'll work on that over the weekend.

I'm disappointed in 'Snapple Facts'. They're riddled with errors and sometimes contain unprovable 'facts'.

Today's Diet Peach bottle fact was "Your eye expands up to 45% when looking at something pleasing". If true, you'd get an enormous headache looking at 1980's Christie Brinkley pictures. The pupil of the eye dilates, your eye itself doesn't expand. We'd all be walking around like Marty Feldman otherwise.

And I don't eat fish, thereby avoiding the whole scallops imbroglio.

I didn't even know that "fake scallops" were a thing. Fascinating.
