Inspired by Rich Chiles, 23 men have made more than 100 regular-season appearances in center field for the Mets. One guy did well upon his arrival from a rival NL East franchise, then flopped the next year. The other guy stunk out of the box in a trade that really stunk out of the box.

That was my first instinct but coming over in mid-June meant playing 100 games in center was unlikely.
