Yeah. As well he should. Everyone deserves a lawyer. There were defense attorneys at Nuremberg - that doesnt make them bad people.

Re: How Does Eric Nelson Sleep at Night?

I have a friend who is a defense attorney, and he doesn't always sleep well at night. He's vigorously defended some guys during the day, and spent the night thinking "Jesus Christ, what if I win this one?"

He quit drinking 20 years ago, but legalized pot has stepped in in recent years to serve as the damper on his internal conflict. He's probably around 60, 61 and from my perspective, he's kind of turning into quite the head. He's a great guy, but you can see the personality changes taking hold, and it's been increasingly difficult to catch up with him on a good day.

A test of how obvious a police officer's actions have be before he can be convicted. Apparently the line is somewhere short of strangling someone on camera with bystanders begging him to stop it. I guess that's progress. Good that the right decision was made. Awful that there was real doubt about it being made.

Now I'm going to have a drink.

Apparently, it's never a good time to say whatever it is you disagree with. I'm still waiting for your permission to write that Paul Sewald was not the best Mets reliever of 2017.

It would make for far more interesting conversation if you explained what it is you don't like about that comment intead of that it's not the right time. And while we're on the subject, why isn't it the right time?

I'm not gonna presume what exactly Ceetar meant but I will anyways -- I don't think he meant what his post literally means. I think he was writing, in his own style, that there's a ways to go for policing to improve. Who would disagree with that? There's a vicious sarcastic comment a few posts before Ceetar's post, too (which I think is great, BTW). Any problems with that post?

Yeah, I tried that first. I saw an article for cisgender but skipped it thinking that wasn't it, believing I'd find something with "CIS" in the headline, like definition of CIS or CIS acronym or something like that.

Not nearly as silly as John Ritter "pretending" to be gay.

I tried watching Three's Company when it aired originally, It was so popular. I hated it. I thought the humor sucked. It's probably my least favorite TV show of all-time among shows that I've watched at least a half a dozen or so complete episodes.

Don Knotts didn't like it either.

He was told to do Barney, but a broader version of him, and was confused, because he thought it was obvious that Barney was done about as broadly as possible without just being annoying.

The point is, please be cool. Mayberry likes its un-armed police force and so does the Crane Pool.

Re: How Does Eric Nelson Sleep at Night?

Why are we villainizing a defense attorney doing his job? The last thing you want is the government to be able to easily throw someone in jail, especially for a heinous crime like this one. A strong defense attorney makes sure they have the right guy with strong evidence and are able to prove it for all to see. That protects ALL of us.

Re: How Does Eric Nelson Sleep at Night?

For those believing that 22.5 years is still not enough, Chauvin has a Federal trial, for violating George Floyd's civil rights, on his calendar, should he last to that date. The sentence he will receive for that one will be added to the 22.5, consecutive, not concurrent. The full total is yet to be known.
