If you're going to pair someone with Lucchesi during his starts-- starting one for the first turn or two through the lineup, then pitching the other for 3-4 innings-- Reid-Foley does seem to be a near-ideal complement. Style-wise, they're almost entirely-different pitchers.

So we had the 2+ minute half inning break, then Villar gets hit by the 1st pitch of the inning, that leads the more like a 3 minute pitching change break, one batter later we have a mound conference break because the Mets send up the most obvious PH on their bench, that conference goes so well that a double off the wall is followed by another pitching change break. And now three pitches later we're on to the next hslf-inning break. It's such a shame they can't find a way to cut down on dead time. Oh well, maybe the universal DH will do the trick.

Don't forget all the practice pitches that the new pitcher threw so he can get used to the feel of the mound which feels the same way that the ones did in the bullpen (it's not like he was warming up in a cow pasture). And you're right, let's move the mound back instead.

I was so excited to get rid of Matz I barely considered who got they got back but it seemed like it was something of a double "change of scenery" trade. SRF's outing last night is probably the most encouraging thing I've seen on the field at least all year.
