The second game will start as soon as they hang the new batting coach from the yard arm.

I would post the lineup, but I just ate.

McNeil 2B

Alonso 1B

Conforto RF

D. Smith LF

Pillar CF

Villar SS

Peraza 3B

Nido C

Castro RHP

Lindor rests.

Peraza becomes Mets third baseman No. 176.

Castro will not be available in the late innings, apparently.

Remember when the gap between games of a DH was maybe 20 minutes?

The only thing longer than this gap was the top of the 4th in Game 1

I know Diaz left the other night with "back tightness," which might be the medical term for barfing up most of a four run lead. And naturally the St. Louis broadcast team is Johnny on the Spot there with the cameras in the Mets pen.

Agreed.

I was just thinking that there's this magic moment on such plays, when a frisbee is thrown ahead toward the end zone, and the whole swarm on both sides realizes about the same that only one player has a chance to run it down. Everybody else stops running at once and as he streaks on ahead and goes full extension into a high impact dive, even the other team is kind of rooting for him to come up with it.
