I hate to say it but maybe they should IL Jake to make sure that his lat, or whatever it is, heals properly. It would mean that he misses the ATL series but it could be the right thing to do.

Bad management. Barnes should have been pulled after that long at-bat and somebody besides Diaz should have come in. This is the kind of game they might let get away.

In yet another guess that Gary Cohen stalks out the CPF, he made this point not 2 minutes after I did here. Or, maybe I'm just prescient and wise. I can't decide.

One of the things that wasn't exclusively a Mets/Wilpons flaw. Toronto just did the same with George Springer.



I get not wanting to loose deGrom for 15 days if you didn't have to, but an injury that seems very clearly one that would benefit from rest (unless it really is something else undetected as of yet), taking the extra week or so just seemed so worth the returns.
