An important part of every Mets library.

Re: RIP Tom Robson, 1946-2021

I looked at his minor league numbers and thought he'd be our regular first baseman for years to come.

Then they just sold him, not even getting a player in return.

Who ever envisioned that his legacy would be as a coach, not as a player?

RIP

I'm not sure the attire and the drop ceiling say "memorial service" to me, but I've got to appreciate Olerud rocking the nichiest of brands.

I wouldn't have recognized Matt in a hundred tries. Olerud looks good.

Bobby is timeless...

I was thinking that Franco is looking more like Kurt Russell now than he did in his playing days.

Right, I had forgotten the Russell connection.

Props to the Mercury Mets tee shirt. Now that's some legacy behavior there.

Also, Olerud doesn't appear in that game under BRef's hitting and fielding game logs for that game. Plus, my memory, for whatever that's worth, is telling me that Olerud didnt play the Mercury game. So how is the 162 games played figure calculated? If he merely pinch-ran in that game, wouldnt that show up in the box score or scorecard? He doesn't appear in the UMDB scorecard for that game either, but I dont know how to link there from my smartphone.

Re: RIP Tom Robson, 1946-2021

Oh, never mind. The tiebreaker! I thought you were writing that Olerud played the Mercury game. Instead, you were adjusting my 161 out of 162 to 162 out of 163.

I should've read your post all the way through instead of stopping at the first sentence before responding.

So my post should've read:

In 1999, John Olerud appeared in all but one of the Mets regular season games. The one regular season game that Olerud missed in 1999?

The Mercury Mets game.
