Yeah sad to see that he didn't get to give it one last whirl. 3 batter rule probably skewered him, though I am disappointed that he didn't get to have a go this season.

I got the idea that he would have. Tarpley got picked for a quick-turnaround callup because he has options. If a longer-term opportunity had popped up, I was thinking Blevinstone would have gotten the call.

Pretty nice specialist's career: 13 seasons, 609 appearances (1 start for NYM in 2018), 495.1 IP, 2,098 batters faced 3.54 ERA, 114 ERA+, 1.236 WHIP, 7.6 H/9, 9.2 K, 3.5 BB, 0.9 HR, 30 W - 13 L 7 Post-Season innings pitched (OAK + WAS) 0 Runs / 1 Hit 219 of those games and 139 of those innings came w/the Mets and his NYM numbers were right in line with his career stats.

Pitched about twice as many innings for the A's as he did for the Mets. Glad he made the right choice and threw his allegiance to our side as a fan.
