What? No 2021 Aproops thread? Now there is.

For your viewing pleasure, and apropos of nothing, the debut of Linsanity. Highlights from Jeremy Lin's breakout game. Before this game, even Knick fans barely knew who Jeremy Lin was.

IIRC from back when I had EI, MLB and NHL shared channels because the regular season games in those sports aren't supposed to overlap so it's not really a mistake that you temporarily get both.. The Covid delayed hockey season made the overlap bigger so just enjoy free pucks while they last.

This pic with the accompanying text/link keeps on popping up on random news articles I'm reading from my smartphone. I have no idea who she is. I clicked on the click baity link against my instincts and sure enough, I went through about 25 "70s stars" without her ever coming up. Which I figured would happen. Because in the past, whenever I'd click on these type of links, I'd never see the pic that motivated me to click in the first place.

So ... who is she?

Scary moment on my bike today, momentarily lost balance at a high rate of speed, wrestled to keep upright but ran out time and street before I could grip the brakes and tboned a curb at about 20 mph. Bike landed on a hedge, I wound up another 10 feet ahead on the guy's front lawn. Smashed my taint hard on the seat and my wrist on the ground. Blew the front tire but the rim was okay. Fortunately had a spare tube. Walked off the taint injury, changed the tire and got in 80 miles. 🚲

Awful coaching by England in the Euro Cup championship game. It looked like the England offense was designed to keep the ball away from Harry Kane, their best scorer. Then in the shoot out, they had to use three substitute players rather than the starters. All three didn't score.

England didn't have to use subs in the SO, those players were specifically inserted late in extra time so that they would be eligible for the penalty shots.

That they subsequently missed thir shots was neither preordained nor a strategic error.

Yeah, I'm sure Mike Lookinland still dines out on his Inferno stories.

The second (widely assumed, though not as much as OJ) mur-diddly-urderer from that cast is Robert Wagner, whose role was entirely un-necessary except to say, "Let's add a half hour and get some hot, sexy Robert Wagner action in here."

If they had cast Robert Blake as fire chief instead of Steve McQueen, they might have hit the uxoricide trifecta. Very awkward sitting through such a film with one's wife.
