IGT 5/21/2021, NYM @ MIA

Neither the Mets nor the Fish have announced a starter, but my sources have told me that Sean Reid-Foley has been spotted devoting extended time to mustache grooming and shaping. Also, Jim Reid of Jesus and Mary Chain and famed Meat Loaf collaborator/Night Court alum Ellen Foley are both expected to be in attendance. My sources are, as always, confidential but credible. Mostly credible. I'm concerned that one has a drug problem and the other is a fantasist. But I can't tell you more without tipping off their identities.

Jordan Holloway for the fish and Marcus Stroman for the Mets. Marcus has a drug problem? Holloway has logged 13 innings and two starts. He has not thrown more than 75 pitches in an outing.

It's very rare and pretty cool when a guy jumps from the radio booth to the TV booth to cover an absence.



It seems intuitive but they kind of have different bosses, so it's probably something of a pita.



Of course, I'd rather have Rose back in the TV box, but waddamigonnado?

Well, Alonso has done zilch thus far so little production is being lost for the moment. John Curtiss is the pitching opener for the fish. Tonight's accidental hero will be Villar, I hope.

So this Marlins team has Jazz Chisolm, who swings, and Zach Pop whom they hope has perfect pitch. And that might be Joe Easylistening warming up in the pen. Fortunately no infielders have taken a bad Hop off their Hip. Rock Raines could not be reached for comment.

Mets not doing a double switch as they pull Stro? It'd be nice to get Lee in the outfield and bring Dom in to play first. And Lee batting in the pitcher's spot is an upgrade ... in theory.

Luis pulled Stroman after a walk when the batter had a half-swing that could have been called a strike. Such a fine line determined his decision, cost the team the lead, and maybe the game.

Drury started his career as a super-utility Swiss army knife with Arizona from 2015-2017. Been pretty stinky the last few years for Toronto — and at his best, he never hit like a firstbaseman. But if you've been playing for Toronto, there's a new home for you on the 2021 Mets.
