Reliable source (my phone) sez McNeil is back and active for both games. With all the doubleheaders, I'd expect Conforto soon, too, if he's able to go.

A walk, a sacrifice bunt getting the runner to second, a sacrifice fly getting him to third, and a run-scoring wild pitch. Back in the Torre days, we called that a rally. Not all that different these days, either, but I'll take it.

One hit in the last 14 2/3 innings, and it was a routine grounder through a spot abandoned by the secondbasseman. He has 27 strikeouts in the same period. Confounding.

David Schoenfield from espn: Jacob deGrom became the first pitcher checked under the illegal grip substance guidelines as he left the mound after the top of the first. The umpire checked his hat, glove and belt and he and catcher Tomas Nido walked off with big smiles after getting cleared.

First hit of the game for the Braves on a misplayed fly ball to left center. Despite deGrom's ridiculous success, he sure looks like he's grinding to me. But the Panda pops out. I'm guessing he's coming out.

Damn. But at least one of the dumbest rules in the game saves a run (with two outs, a runner on first should be able to score on a ground-rule double).

Not a good inning by Lugo obviously but still a two run lead and the bottom of the Atlanta lineup in the 7th Keep those early hitters off the base paths and it never gets back around to Acuna (5th batter in line)

Nice win ... but it was also the shoulda win game w/JdG vs rookie. Game 2 figures to be more of a toss up and it will make or break the DH
