Attending my nephew's HS graduation tonight at 6 PM, but this does entail a one hour drive to and from the ceremonies. Good to know there will be Mets baseball for both of those rides.

Jankowski is a speedy OF who was with SDP for a while and went to Stonybrook so Seawolf has talked him up despite his poor education.

Torreyes came up w/the Yanx as the illegitimate son of Jose Reyes and Joe Torre.

Maton we saw earlier this year and someone (probably me) suggested his first name is Auto.

It helped the mocking that Koehler was a division opponent (Miami) for much of the time so he wound up facing the Mets more often (22) than any other team during the course of his 8 year career. Nice top 1st for Walker

The at-bat by Walker contained some comical calls too. The last pitch was right down the middle and it took a moment for the ump to call it a strike ... and there was doubt in that moment. And Nola sets a club record by fanning eight straight Mets.

Had Seaver struck out the next batter he faced, Maury Wills, four days later, (remember four man rotations and three days rest in between starts?) he would've been credited with striking out 11 straight batters. He didn't, and wasn't.

Really? I thought it was practically a no-brainer. LH hitter, best hitter on the team,, set up the force ... Harper hasn't been that good this year. And if he drives in the Manfred Man, that's an easy run to make up. If the runner on first winds up scoring, that's much harder to make up. And, never mind. METS WIN!!

I think the second run idea is your best angle here ... but even if you want to call Realmuto the better hitter right now (Harper still more dangerous IMO) I'm still not with you. There was already one out so the extra run odds are somewhat negated. And then I'll still fall back on R-v-R and the force all around to tip the scales. And Philly did the same in the bottom half although the conditions were considerably different so not really an apt analogy here.
