FLUSHING, N.Y., June 16, 2021 – The New York Mets today announced that Citi Field will return to full capacity Monday, June 21 for the Mets 5:10 p.m. doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves. Social distancing and mask requirements at the ballpark have been eased effective immediately. Fans no longer need to show proof of a negative COVID test and/or vaccination to enter the ballpark with a valid ticket. The Mets are in the process of communicating with ticket holders regarding capacity increases and the elimination of vaccinated/unvaccinated seating sections. A 25% discount offer for tickets purchased online at Mets.com/FathersDay (CODE: DAD) for all remaining regular season games (excluding the September 10-12 Subway Series) concludes this Friday night at 11:59 p.m. ET. With anticipated increases in attendance, the Mets encourage fans to take mass transit and arrive early to enter the ballpark.

NY has 56.1% of the population with at least one dose. 43.9% of Citi Field is 18,403 unvaccinated people. Many of who will be shouting while standing in elevated tiers above each other, sharing crowded stairwells, and poorly ventilated bathrooms. There are 3310 'active cases' in NYC right now. That's a real small percentage, but all it takes is one or two to spend 45 minutes coughing on dozens on the Shake Shack line to keep spreading it.
