Toffey is 26 years old. Came to the Mets from the A's in the Jay-or-reese Familia trade in 2018. Has been in Binghamton all along. The guy with the 6.86 ERA in AAA sounds like just the kind of guy we have plenty of already, but the more the merrier!

When I noticed Toffey in a recent Binghamton lineup or such, I did a double-take, like “he's still here?” Bobby Wahl we got a taste of, yet nothing from his trade compatriot.

Tony Banda, Joey Randa, on the run from Kung Fu Panda Hey, why'd you throw that chair at Juan Miranda?! Toffey is likely relieved to be sprung. He was following a bad year in 2019 with an awful one in 2021, and despite all the Mets injuries, still hadn't had so much as a game at AAA (though I think he got a brief callup.). Trading Toffey also keeps the Jeurys Familia trade chain alive. The other branch of that chain seemingly ended when the Mets sent Keon Broxton to the Orioles for bonus slot money, but I guess that value probably lives on in the person of somebody.
