swung at 3 bad pitches and at least 2 of them were probably balls, so yeah.

With the Mets playing a Thursday day game under a scorching sun, I'm reminded that it was 20 years ago this week when the Mets Online Fan Forum had its picnic at Shea Stadium on a scorching hot Thursday afternoon.

Only thing I can remember from that game was the noise Mark Johnson made crashing into the fence making a catch in left. That and it was very hot

That and it was very hot Also, I was working at a job I really hated with a supervisor who really hated me and flipped out when informed her I was taking the day off, even though it had been communicated months before. She passive-aggressively raised her voice so the whole office would hear: "You're taking off to GO TO A BASEBALL game?!?" In today's sensitive environment I probably could have had her fired for that. Instead her husband died less than a month later at 9-11

It's a systematic problem. Barber is white. Stroman is black. That falls within the study parameters.

yes, the data bears that out. I mean, America is racist. the entire country is built upon that racism. Why wouldn't it extend to umpiring? Coming into today, Marcus Stroman was tied with Nathan Eovaldi for the 6th-most pitches in the strike zone called for balls this season with 48.
