Just a Flesh Wound - CPF Injuries 2021

Hey, injuries aren't just limited to the New York Mets! Have you or a loved one been hurt or injured? Then [CROSSOUT]call the number below and a representative...[/CROSSOUT] post about it here because bitching about it anywhere else isn't going to do any good either.

I'll start. I have a corneal ulcer. Started out feeling like I had something in my eye, then it got worse and worse. Took out my contact lenses but it didn't get better. I saw a white spot on my iris, and then everyone said I had to see someone right away. Treatment takes about a week to ten days. Eye drops every hour, ointment twice a day. But get this, after applying the ointment, I have to keep that eye closed for an hour. The doctor recommends taking a nap! I love naps!

I recommend a prosthetic eye-patch after dosing. It's very sexy in Europe. (I hear)

Re: Just a Flesh Wound - CPF Injuries 2021

Feel better, CF. Eyes are tricky, but meds and naps are good.

My injury is far less serious. I trimmed my hedges and the hedges won. I had bleeding cuts and scrapes on my legs from the sharp edges of what I had been cutting, even though I wore long (sweat) pants. Guess next time I wear thicker pants.

I'm, um, sick.

Pretty sure it's not the Delta (no fever or anything) but been stuffy-headed and runny-nosed for a couple days, and of course just came off a plane from a week in the midwest.

More likely beating my body up on the bike physically and temp extremes (really hot then onto AC)

You should probably get tested anyway. Runny noses are one of the leading symptoms that vaccinated people experience.

Banged my head against an open hatchback of a car today.

Not much of a cut in the end but I did briefly learn what I'd look like as a redhead.

I may have got whatever I have on the airplane

No. No cold/sniffles/headache/Covid symptoms.

I'm fine, but Mrs. Lefty badly sprained her ankle 10 days ago and is only now beginning to recover.

I on the other hand have a trip to St Louis scheduled in two weeks, into the deep dark heartland of Covid deniers. I will be tested before and after, and double masking on the plane.

My brother and his wife are ER doctors at Wash U in St. Louis. If misfortune should fall upon you, or should Ms. Lefty aggravate the ankle, let me know.

CF, I hope you are doing better. Corneal ulcers are serious. Luckily, with modern antibiotics, they can be effectively treated in the vast majority of cases.

I never heard of this prior to your mention ... and then the next day some guy at work had it too.

Maybe it's contagious like Covid.

Thanks Doc! Lots of drops, ointment and frequent checkups. It's been two and a half weeks and it's finally closed up. The doctor says I can go back to wearing contacts part time in a few days. I start steroids on Monday.

If you see me touching 95 at my son's next batting practice, you'll know why.

Oh no! That must have been so painful. This happened to my wife a few years back. Never knew that the treatment for a broken toe is "suck it up and deal with it".

Yes it is. I had to limp around with a broken big toe several years ago. I had to use a cane to ease the pressure on that foot when I stepped down. But I guess people didn't care. One of my co-workers stepped on my foot and didn't even excuse himself.

I looked him in the eye and slowly said "If you do that again, I will disembowel you".

He avoided stepping on my foot after that.

I hope your toe heals quickly, Cooby.

Re: Just a Flesh Wound - CPF Injuries 2021

Lol with the disembowel quote.

While mom and I were shopping I had on flip flops and scampering children that normally would not have bothered me made me cringe and hide my foot. Since it was not an obvious injury people probably were wondering

Anyhow now I'm on my second day off work because I hurt my back on Sunday…and it locked up Sunday night. I couldn't even get up to pee. It was quite the spectacle for a while, me rolling around trying to get an angle I could stand the pain, my hubby trying to help, and that making it worse, bless his heart

Funny thing is once I finally got upright, and it took about 15 minutes, it got much better immediately.

But still can't twist around so watering and weeding are out

Man, the list of persistent annoying shit breaking on my body would astound and bore all of you. Trust it to say that most days I feel like the Bluesmobile right when it gets parked in front of the Cook County Assessor's office by Jake & Elwood.

Most prominently, today, is this nagging recurring cough that has been bothering me on and off since spring time. My initial doctor/nurse type person's diagnosis was allergies, only I don't think that's it. An albuterol inhaler script hasn't helped much and any time I'm around anyone I feel like they're looking at me trying to see Covid jumping out of my mouth.

Me and naproxen sodium (generic Aleve) have got it going on. Take

way more than what the label says but my doctor has prescribed this

for me so I go by her milligrams than by BJ's label warnings.
