(*not so secret, see the What's Cooking in The Crane Pool? thread coming

soon to a forum near you.)

I keep a Ball jar of this handy for everything. Try mixing it into hamburger patties

next time you fire up the grill! Throw two dozen chicken wings in a Ziplock and shake

some in and let sit in fridge for half a day.

1 TBSPN dried thyme

1 TBSPN dried oregano

1 TBSPN white pepper

1 TBSPN black pepper

We had a million cucumbers, so I spent all morning mixing up various brine concoctions and making pickles. It was super fun to do; we'll see how they turn out.

Kase, that sounds like a great alternative to Old Bay seasoning or the mix a chef on the Food Network uses. He has most of your ingredients, but adds a tsp of brown sugar (which takes it out of possibility for me to use).

Thanks

Right, I have another one that has a few sweet things like brown sugar that

contrast the heat a little. They're my adaptations of basic rubs in this book:

Mine has a different cover, I think the one pictured is probably just updated and

expanded a little. My book has to be like thirty years old.

Bought this cookbook while on vacation in the Adirondacks last week and enjoying it so far. Made some Tex Mex turkey meatballs last night that were delicious (ground turkey, salsa, crushed corn chips, cheese, seasonings, oven baked and served with salsa/guac/sour cream for condiments).

Even cooler than that is that in her cookbook she gives various shouts out to local folks she interacts with, her partner, family members, etc. One of the people who gets a mention, and makes a photographic appearance, is the proprietor of a local gym where the author exercises. The owner of that gym is my friend Tanya, whom I graduated high school with and have known since I was in fifth grade.

Too lazy to make a lunch-check thread, so I'll stick this here. Had a turkey burger for

lunch with melted cheddar and red onion. I think in the poultry-burger department I'm

partial to chicken burgers. I've had ostrich burgers before, but it's been awhile. Not sure

why ostrich meat isn't more popular here, it's fucking awesome. Had a salmon burger a

few weeks ago which was pre-seasoned (not sure what they put in it) but it was delish.

I eat more salmon than a bear these days. Buying the enormous fillet packages from Lidl which are super cheap relative to others (like half when on sale) and can feed you 4 times

Very easy on the grill, soaked cedar plank on charcoal, brush top with olive oil, kosher salt & pepper, that's it. Close the lid, open it in 10 minutes. Re-use the coals.

We do the cedar plank thing too. I put a pressed clove of garlic and a spritz

of fresh lemon juice in the olive oil as well.
