Summer day survey

Not much to do right now at the greenhouse. End of the summer; nobody's buying plants, ya water, ya weed, ya move things around All the summer help has gone back to school, which leaves me. They were supposed to do the big time weeding but they did a pisspoor job now I'm stuck with it. On one hand I am glad SOMEONE still thinks I'm young enough for physical labor (my boss and I are two months apart in age), unlike my mother who doesn't think I should carry more than one bag of groceries at a time ‘ you'll hurt your insides!' 🤦‍♀️ Okay finally my question! It's still too hot for pants but crawling around under tables on stones to pull weeds is killing my knees If you were I, would you sacrifice the knees (greenhouses are typically 20 degrees above outdoor temperature and steamy) and wear shorts, or wear pants for a modicum of comfort?

I actually have one of those and it's great. However, it's wedged in our pool fence to keep our cats from escaping out of a slight gap in the gate...sigh.

Carpet installers and 'head' nurses too. I use a filthy folded up soft beach towel.

I use a Mets pad (Orange on one side, blue on the other with the Mets logo on both sides) that I got on a (IIRC) Shea giveaway day. It was advertised as a seat cushion, but makes a great knee pad. As for Cooby's question, I always wear sweat pants. They not only help protect the knees, but also against tick bites. Later

Yeah, don't think I don't worry about tick bites crawling around under there. And spiders, snakes and poison ivy....all of which have been spotted. No wonder those kids didn't want to do this :(
