- So clawing back 1.5 games off the lead in one day was nice yesterday. Let's see if we can make it two full games tonight as the Braves finish up in LA vs Scherzer Dodgers, btw, now within 0.5 games of SFG - Phils/Nats are also a wash out today - and always fun to note that, following 13 straight wins, the Yanx have now lost 4 in a row. Angels won by one run on Tuesday in part due to Ohtani's steal of home (part of a double steal). Do you know he's tied for 5th in the ML in stolen bases with 26? I didn't. Which reminds me of the time Chin-Mein Wang injured his foot while stepping on home in an IL game sending Hank Steinbrenner into a rant worthy of his father about how pitchers are too delicate to be required to even trot on the base paths. But of course we need the universal DH to prevent such injuries.

Think our games the last few days have been a bit nutty, the Cubs/Pirates game on Sunday, eventually won by the Cubs 11-8, featured three come-from-behind Grand Slams including two in the 3rd inning. Bryan Reynolds (PIT) top 3; Matt Duffy (CHC) bottom 3; Frank Schwindel (CHC) bottom 7 19 runs scored in the game, 12 of them coming on three swings. Yanx give up 4 in the 7th to lose to the O's. With three games left in the season series, the Yanx are "only" 9-7 vs Bal'mer when they're used to more like 16-3 or thereabouts. Rays are 18-1 this year. Fifth time the Yanx have lost a game after having a lead of 3 or more runs in the 7th inning or later. Tied for the most in MLB SFG, throwing a 'bullpen game' are up 6-1 on Walker Buehler and the Dodgers in the final game of that season series. The season series is currently tied 9-9 just like the teams are in tied atop the NL West

Six teams are off today, September 6, a national holiday. That makes sense, right?

The minors seem to have gone to a standard schedule with six games per week and each Monday as their off/travel day.
