Somebody's gotta start the 9/18 IGT Phils @ Mets

7:15 (or thereabouts) first pitch on FOX Network Carlos Carrasco vs Aaron Nola Mets & Giants doing their best to tighten up the NL East. After Travis d'Arnaud hit a one-out 3R HR in the 9th to put the Braves up 5-4 Friday night, the Giants answered in the bottom half to send it to extras. The Braves managed to go out 1-2-3 with the Magic Man on 2nd in both the 10th & the 11th innings (I would have though that only the NYM could pull that off). Giants won it in bottom 11 when pitcher/pinch-hitter Kevin Gausman hit a Sac Fly for the win. Any self-respecting NYM hitter would have found a way to hit into an easy GiDP in that situation.

With the playoffs no longer a realistic possibility maybe they can start playing the guys they called up for the 40-man roster expansion...what? we have to watch these assholes for two more weeks!

Wow! Just wow! McCann, the big free agent haul the Mets were in such a hurry to sign is pinch hit for in the last of the 9th. He's looking every bit like the scrub he's been for his entire career except for last year. The joke, as almost always, is on us.
