The Mets are also playing for a higher draft pick. I want them to win every game but if they don't:

http://www.tankathon.com/mlb

"Any team that signs a player who has rejected a qualifying offer is subject to the loss of one or more Draft picks. While a team's highest first-round pick is exempt from forfeiture, any additional first-round picks are eligible."

https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/qualifying-offer

The compensation pick at 11 is locked in so if the Mets fell to 10 and signed a FA that rejected a QO they'd lose their 3d pick but at their current draft position they would lose that pick.

So if the Mets want to sign FA Robbie Ray and he is offered a QO then they would lose a 1st round pick. However, if they signed Starling Marte (my recommendation, if they should ask) they would not lose a draft pick as he was traded this season.

An IGT win streak!

It is always fun to beat the fish.

Taijuan will try to keep his era from getting too far gone.

Booth talking a lot more about Sandy's pre-game comments than about the game itself.

They read between the lines and heard the bell tolling for Luis Rojas. I didn't hear it that way, but ... .

Gary: Wander Franco just tied Frank Robinson's 1956 rookie record for consecutive games on base

Keith: 1956, was that Frank's rookie season?

The Mets have hit three balls down the line tonight that have gone for singles.

The Mets could IL Taijuan now that he's done for the year to add a player (e.g. bring back SRF) but I wonder if they will even bother.

C'mon, Loogs, lets get Tie Juan a win to close out his season.

In other news, Lee Mazzilli is an abysmal radio presence calling a Mets game.

Or, you know, do the opposite.

This just in: Lugo is bad on back to back appearances/days. If I know this, what does Luis know?

Possibly many things.

But none of them seem to do anything with managing a major league baseball team.

Both the Mets & Jays go down meekly on infield grounders in the half-inning after giving up their leads.

Dylan Floro looks like a bad spy standing blowing his cover with an obviously fake beard.

Either that, or he's just into Pat Zachry cosplay.

Let's see if we can at least get a ball out of the infield... y'know, just to make it interesting.

Re: IGT 09/29 Miami at NY Mets - Still Money On the Table

I know that last night's game wasn't important so I don't want to overstate any AB but...

GKR praised Pete for "a good at bat" and that "he battled" after striking out in the 9th inning last night. Sorry, but Pete is too good a player so let's not give Pete kudos for failing to get on base, especially against a nobody even if Keith made Florio sound like an all-star. Pete was up in the count 2-1 and, predictably, waived at a fastball (just 92 MPH) that was out of the strike zone. It's the same pitch he's missed all season. He fouled off 3 pitches and took it to 3-2 before weakly flying out on a borderline pitch. I'm not here to bury Pete but GKR came across as homers (which is something that Pete didn't hit and hasn't since September 22).
