J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets 2021!

I'm going into the season pretty much blind on this team. I do know it's very young, like half the roster either a rookie or sophomore. The Zach era begins. The Saleh one too, for that matter. We miss Vic every day here, but especially when threads like this get started. He boiled the Knicks and Jets down better than anyone.

I napped through the first half which is probably best. Zach had some moments of potential in the second half, drove them down the field and got them in the game. He looked good to me. He didn't have much help from the running game or his O-line.

He seemed to be on the run a lot. Yes, the O-line seemed to let him down. He's got a good arm but needs a little time back there to throw.

Not a terrible game, but a loss is a loss and they are piling up early and often. We set up a TV out on the carport/patio and tailgated with some friends. Beer, London broil, peppers and onions, some deli salads. Just like the good ol' days in D-13 only no dealing with 17 traffic and a backed up T Z... Nap time.

I have RedZone on cable, and I like to watch that because it's non-stop action (and the Jets suck). But I actually dropped out of it to watch the second half of the Jets game exclusively. A rare occurrence these days.

Ugh. We were surrounded by Iggles fans in the 300 level. The stadium was only about 2/3 full and half of that was Eagles fans. The first half was pathetic, with neither team being able to stop the other defensively. The Jets tackling was atrocious. Jets also need a new kicker (again), cuz if you can't make extra points, you shouldn't be wearing an NFL uniform. The beer, however, remained cold.

This hurt more than the 47 yard hail Mary pass by the Raiders that beat the Jets at Shea Stadium with less than a minute to go many years ago. When Warren (the criminal) Wells caught the ball that bounded off/ through three Jets defenders while he was lying on his back in the end zone, I cursed out loud and punched a concrete wall. I applaud the team's progress and grit. But this hurt more, because of who threw it and the fact that they almost beat last year's SB champs. Later

Brady's been doing this forever, you had to know it was kinda likely he was going to eek out the win. What surprises me more these days is that viewers weren't prompted to log onto betbetbetdotcom and get some in-game-live action on how much time would elapse before he sealed the deal.
