maybe they can buckle down and do the research and vetting to find someone that's not already a tried and true flashy GM?

That's certainly the idea.

At least, it was with the last three GMs they hired.

I'm kinda disappointed they won;t climb the Beanestalk. But you know, they'll probably hire his assistant Billy Owens.

Re: We Didn’t Want Them Anyway

The media is contorting itself to fit the #LOLMets narrative by yelling that the Mets were "rejected" by these three, but:

Theo--maybe he didn't want the job (he had that job in Chicago and left it) or maybe he likes his current job in the Commissioner's Office (low stress) or maybe he did but he wanted a % of the team and Steve didn't want to give it to him;

Stears--is under contract and the Brewers' owner wants him to fulfill his contract/likes enslaving his front office people;

Beane--has an ownership interest in Oakland or might not want to switch coasts or might want to be a part of a team move or might want to be part of building a new stadium or doesn't want to work harder or might like having an excuse for never winning because Oakland is not a big market or maybe his daughter sang that song again.

Yeah, it's all a bunch of donkey-head hooey poo.

Somewhere out there is a young guy or gal that can right this ship.

I firmly believe this, and I'm not one to hooey poo.
