Lots of reports that former Giants GM Brian Sabean is the latest Mets POBO target. Did win a bunch of championships.

Hard to argue with the success he's had. I'm not sure if people look at the Giants organization as a distinct model, but maybe they should be trying to.

The Mets have clearly struck out with the Beanes and Epsteins - Sabean represents a strong winning record in the GM job, not much more you can ask for.

Not sure what Bochy's thought process would be about returning to the bench (at his age) after voluntarily leaving a good situation just a few years back.
