I just accidentally stumbled upon this performance from Toronto Rocks 2003. On one hand, it's nice to see a crowd of shirtless youths losing their shit to Rush. On the other hand, it actually looks like the crowd is equal to the entire population of Toronto, so .... young, old, fat, thin, and many shades of pinkish white. It's great how, in the breakdown between verses, Alex steps on his pedal and does that cool arpeggio, while Peart switches from his skins to a digital glockenspiel. Amazing to see a three-piece band so solid and tight in such a ridiculously huge venue. Also, inexplicably, a set full of washing machines. [YOUTUBE]FFpZFnJ6ZT8[/YOUTUBE]

If you haven't watched the Dan Rather interview it's totally worth investing an hour in - on so many levels. Geddy is one cool mother-fucker and then some. Dan Rather ain't bad either. The washing machines became a staple for years. Stagehands come out and tend to them haha...
