The Mets have signed Daniel Palka as a minor league FA (the only type of FA that can be signed at the moment).

Bats left, mostly corner OF. Showed some pop with the White Sox in 2018-19. My guess is that he'll get some ST ABs after the regulars have left the game and then he'll be the Syracuse 1B in '22.

From Rotowold:

[BLOCKQUOTE]Palka possesses gargantuan over-the-fence pop, but hasn't been able to make contact consistently enough to even carve out a part-time role in the majors in recent years. The 30-year-old slugger, who launched 27 round-trippers with the White Sox back in 2018, spent the entire 2021 campaign at Triple-A Rochester with the Nationals where he slashed a robust .256/.364/.472 and also clobbered 18 homers in 420 plate appearances. He's certainly an intriguing low-risk lottery ticket for the Mets.
