Should we be having another conversation about Jeurys Familia?

I know that players are currently being signed to minor-league deals, but my guess is that Familia can't be, because the Mets aren't allowed to talk to him. I don't know, however, exactly how it's determined who the teams can talk to and who they can't. Bringing back Jay-or-Reese wouldn't be the worst thing, as long as they don't plan to count on him too much.

Might be fun to have around as a cog or a fastener, certainly not a full- bullpen-wheel spoke. I'd be disappointed if they committed much to him.

Everybody's too frustrating. That's the game with relief pitching. We don't have emotional reactions to relievers from other teams, so we have a less-than-logical preference for the devil we don't know.

Sorry, I'm new here. Too-this and 'the game' and emotional reactions and less-than-logical and even the devil!! Post some contract length and numbers!! I know you won't, and the first one that says, 'it's not my money' is gonna get such a pinch... Me: Cog and/or fastener, not a spoke.

Agree with the general sentiment. I've always liked Familia; he seems to be comfortable here, he's generally pretty effective, and could be the righty Pedro Feliciano (if you ignore the half-season in Oakland). I'm good with a minor-league deal.

1.416 WHIP last year. He's always had lots of baserunners, even during most of his good years. Back then he had just enough control, coupled with his nasty stuff, to strand most of them. Plus he didn't give up HRs. These past few years he hasn't been as lucky (or just had less control in general). And he's also giving up HRs, which suggests his stuff is fading. I like him a lot. I think he's been shafted by public opinion for a number of reasons, but I feel like he's on the verge of going kinda bad. But sure. Minor league deal. Why not.

Which is primarily business as usual. Just nothing is gonna get done until everyone pulls their hands out from under their asses and resolve stuff and move on. I'm losing patience with it faster than anticipated. Have to find that prediction thread and look at the dates wagered on.
