His defense showed up for the Mets, anyhow. Too bad his bats never got off the baggage carousel. Amazingly, despite being as unproductive as you can imagine a player to be, he reached three times in his last game with the team, getting an HbP, his only hit as a Met (a trickler), and a walk. He was immediately DFA'd to make room for Seth Lugo and was never heard from again, apparently never finding his stroke in Syracuse either.

Is there a story to what happened to that ball? I kinda think there is. I had tailgate pictures of that morning and lost them on a laptop that bonked.
