...for Jae Seo.

Greatest Mets career ever ruined by a NYC taxi driver.

Point taken, but Sanchez was in a Miami cab, not an NYC one. And the official cause didn't hold the cab driver responsible but the other driver, who was supposedly drunk.

I imagine DWIs in Miami are summat disproportionate from the national mean.

I was ready at any moment for Sanchez to blow up for one reason or another but that was a shame for the club.

The additional shit cherry on top of the sewage Sunday was that, although Roberto Hernandez was quickly acquired before the deadline and slotted in as Duaner's replacement, the real replacement came three weeks later when Guillermo Mota was purchased on a post-deadline waiver deal.

Despite the insult to Mike Piazza that the transaction seemed to be, Mota was lightning in a bottle, out-pitching even Sanchez, compiling a 1.00 ERA over 18 innings, mostly displacing Hernandez in the post-season bullpen, before (in the most predictable of happenstances) blowing up in the post-season.
