That's why I call them "freaks." People who believe in free expression, or at least in equally free expression.

It's a joke around here, the concept that posters' expression is anything like equally privileged or tolerated. I'm cool with that, you're a bunch of bigots, you want only nice stuff said in favor of your ball team, you resent the heck out of criticism, and you're all eager to tell each other how fabulous you think each other is, and how unspeakably foul you find such perverts as me or Klapisch or whoever the Mets boogeyman of the moment is, you tolerate unbelievably inane arguments that are in praise of the Mets, and it's frankly astonishing to me that such a narrow-minded, intolerant, hypocritical bunch of gladhanders has put up with me for this long. I guess force of habit, and discomfort with acknowledging your own repressive and hostile natures so openly, counts for something. I'm sure Edgy has a lot of support for the sober-minded and painful exercise of his duties in relegating the foulest of posters (me) to the Red Light forum this morning. You won't find him segregating any past posts calling me "shithead," "dick," "Fucktard," "asshole," "prick," "liar," "pain in the ass," "Buzzkill," "hard-on," "jackass," "motherfucking nitwit," "King of the Retards," "dipshit," "scumbag," "cuntface," "mental patient," or "Red Sox fan"* * any time soon, nor do I expect him to. But I do expect that the entire CPF is pretty much lined up behind Edgy for his fine work in segregating with a judicious hand at least SOME of the name calling on the CPF. (It's hard, I know, to get close up behind Edgy, what with KC's nose up Edgy's butt and all, but you know what I mean.) Anyway, I'm pretty sure that my extensive quotation of some of the epithets hurled my way will be interpreted as my own use of vulgar language and cause this post to get itself segregated too. It's really fine with me, so long as you're aware that you're all complicit in the practice of segregationism--most of you are active supporters of it, I'm sure--and as long as you realize that you're declaring one level of discourse appropriate for pro-Mets posters and another level of discourse (separate but equal) for all other posters, while praising yourselves for your fairness and toleration of other points of view. Maybe I should just post my baseball comments directly into the Red Light Forum and save Edgy all this trouble? There's a thought.

BS: >>>Maybe I should just post my baseball comments directly into the Red Light Forum and save Edgy all this trouble?<<<

That would be ideal if you don't find it too much trouble.

Not at all, dear chap. Delighted to help you out. I'll simply ask you to wait a while, as I've misplaced my Klan Kostume for the moment, but it's always a pleasure to help out such paragons of fairness as you and Edgy. May I also go fuck myself, if that's not too much trouble for you?

What I really want is for you to stop being an ass. People who you like and
respect a thousand times more me have pleaded with you for years. To liken
this to the KKK is just so typical of your nonsensical desire to disrupt the CPF.

Yassuh, massa.

Why would I want to disrupt the CPF? You think maybe I find organizations to join just so I can disrupt them?

No, all I want is to say my piece, however much or little it conforms to the general CPF party line.I'd much prefer people tolerated dissenting points of view without being nasty to each other, but you seem to think (and today's Edgy's made it official CPF policy) to suppress abuse when it stems from me and to encourage it when it's directed towards me. Excuse me for thinking so, but I find this to be somehow inequitable.

When you go off on me, it's just kidding around, or tit-for-tat, or boys-being-boys, but the rules have been (and now are officially) different when it comes to me. So I'm trying to make it known that you're following a double-wide double-standard, and pretending to be the victims here.

Personally, I think Edgy would have been wiser to roll his eyes at some of my comments that he found unbearable about Piazza two years ago instead of hiding in the closet and making me out to be some sort of maniac, but since he has, and since that's been the CPF party line, I've had very little motivation to be much kinder to him, and his followers, than he (and they ) have been to me. That's the problem with incivility--it tends to breed worse incivility, and finallly people are left shaking their heads wondering "How has it come to this?" without looking in the mirror as to how their own conscious and willful acts have helped to cause it.

Well, I'm not going anyplace any time soon. So you might as well get used to dealing with disruption, because I can't see that you've allowed me any other role than a disruptor of Edgy's CPF or a supporter of Edgy's CPF. I tried to be a polite critic of the things of which I felt critical about this place and about the Mets, but you preferred that I be labelled a "prick" and an "asshole" and all those other fine nouns, so that's what I will be.

Go post something worth reading in the baseball forum and grow up.
