I can watch a game without caring who wins. Why can't a professional announcer?

A Mets' game w/o caring who wins? I thought I was the only one here who did that.

It's pretty interesting, btw. If the Mets win an exciting game, I usually go "All my pals on the CPF are getting their chains yanked a little further, this is really good" and if they lose, I'm all "Of course, that figures, no big surprises there." Either way, I have a pretty good time, unlike days past when I would get irritated enough to blow my liver out my nose sometimes.

I'm flat out? I thought I had a few singles left, but maybe you're right.

Now, seawolf, don't let a 5-0 deficit get to you like that. If the Mets were up 5-0, or even if Zambrano were showing some vague signs of competence, you'd probably be less irritated with my insufferably smug and superior taunting attitude. Don't let me affect your day like that, it's not fair to yourself.

Gotta be quicker on the trigger than that, seawolf. That makes 14 times this month I've been called a dick (or a "prick") to only eleven "assholes." I've also been admonished six times about calling people names.

]If I hear ONE more time Michael Kay say his "How DARE you" spiel the next time a caller to his show who dare suggests that Kay is a Yankee homer I will go down to One Penn Plaza, go up to the 17th floor and scream "How do you NOT at least have a small feeling for the team that you have been associated with for almost 20 years now?"

You've got no one but yourself to blame for listening to his show. I'm going to propose a rule at the next CPF General Assembly Meeting that anyone who discusses his show will be banned.

Wow, that was alittle uncalled for. I was being funny about something Kay does.

So if I say "The next time Randolph brings in Juilo I'm going down to Shea, over to Omar's office and scream 'Why is Julio still on THIS roster?' " that means anyone that discusses the Mets or Jorge Julio will be banned?

What conclusions do you draw from this data?

What a rotten bunch. I don't know why you should have to put up with this. In fact, being a Red Sock fan and all, one has to wonder why you stick around and put up with the constant abuse.

I wouldn't say this, at least not in this way. I see it as the Mets are like a cult, the Cult of the Underdog maybe, and I somehow escaped the mind-control, the Koolaid binging, the transparent PR that makes Scientology seems less evil than your high school Glee Club. And I see that all my former friends are trapped inside this monstrous machine, being robbed of their money and their dignity and, worst of all, defending the scummy monsters who are doing this to them. So I try to help you to free yourselves from the evil, braindead, clueless, malevolent, soulless organization that is all about profits and not at all about winning pennants. I get a lot of abuse, but I feel sure you'll all thank me when I liberate you from their grasping clutches.

You're not a rotten bunch, Elster, You're simply no more responsible than the marionette whose ventriloquist makes him speak obscene insults to the audience. I try not to take it personally.
