I don't see what all the hub bub is ...

I haven't read all the stuff here, one reason for this area is to remove it
from the main forum and if people chose to read it ... read away. I don't
need to read six paragraphs attacks on why we suck anymore. No time,
no patience. What Sal's internet character has "devolved" into on this
forum is beyond anything I could hope to sum up here.

a) If Sal is truly interested in discussing baseball, then he can and will in
the BASEBALL forum.
b) If he wants to be a dick, then he can and will in the RED LIGHT FORUM.

Anyone following along for YEARS knows full well that all he really wants to
do is drive a burr so far up the admins asses here and play head games.

Well, the game is now back in our court and he's not in charge.

Yes. We have truimphed, fellow admins. We have taken the power back from Sal! Goodness wins. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

KC, this frankly looks like a game of chicken. "Let's see how long Sal will stick around once we start moving his posts to the Red Light Forum."

Now, I don't think that was the intent, but all this culling solves nothing.

The heart of the problem is that you, Edgy & Sal have personal issues. I don't give a shit who's to blame. Either come to some level of resolution there, or ban him.

What you're doing now looks foolish and is disruptive, IMO.

You presume too much, Rotblatt. I don't expect anyone to have to leave.

I know, KC. That's why I said it wasn't your intent. But in my presumptious opinion, that's where this is headed unless you all try to work something out between yourselves, which emphatically does not seem to be happening.

What do you propose?

What, I'm supposed to be constructive and not just critical?

Uh, I really don't know. I just feel strongly that sweeping the problem under the rug won't help.

If you guys know each other (which I think you do), maybe meet in person and talk it out? Call each other? Private email? Hell, hash it out here if you don't mind it being done publicly.

From a relatively outsiderish perspective, I think that the three of you all care deeply about this forum and want it to be a place for reasoned, intelligent, Mets-related discourse. I also think you all honestly feel that there should be plenty of room for dissent.

Now, you all might not see it that way, but maybe trying to find out what you DO agree on then going from there would be a good starting point.

I think part of the problem is that discussing things has not had the desired effect and inevitably devolves into "you're a poopyhead" "no, YOU'RE a poopyhead." There is a popular sentiment that the baseball forum has become too poisoned with arguments among certain members. Since these differences cannot be solved the next best thing is to get the arguments out of the baseball forum so those not involved may discuss the Mets uninterrupted. I do agree with Rotblatt that we should try our hardest to work out our differences. If these discussions/arguments/pissing matches are too take place on line though they should take place in the Red Light Forum. And if they end up occuring in the baseball forum they are moved here.

Ah, yes, Jimmy Carter principle. Find out what we do agree on.

I do care deeply about this forum and it's members. I do want it to be a place for reasoned, intelligent, Mets-related discourse. I do feel that there should be plenty of room for dissent.

Just as long as no one's giving you grief over your spirited defense of Piazza's offensive supremacy in 2004. If that happens, that person becomes a non-person.

I'm playing the world's smallest violin to accompany your sad, sad song.
