Kaz 2 for 2 with a shot that nearly takes Smoltz's head off.

Gary making the point that the best thing for Kaz was that he started on the road.

Do you morons see why booing is so fucking stupid?? It's actually better for a player to start out on the road. Do you understand the stupidity of that fact?

Do you understand the stupidity of using such a small sample size to "make your point"? if he had a few less balls fall in he'd be looking like his usual shit. please look at sample sizes before we start calling Julio Franco the MVP based on his "great" stats

Reyes with a standup triple!

edited to quote Elster since i was not the post directly below his as i thought i'd be.

What are you talking about?

My point is that booing a home player is stupid, makes him uncomfortable, and adversely affects his play. Which sample size are we talking about now?

Sample sizes have nothing to do with it. Please try and grasp what I'm saying. It's not hard.

try and grasp that he hasnt shown anything yet in 27 fuckin ABs, if he had a few less hits your mouth would be shut right now, as it should be.

With Franco, it's a different story. I admire him because he's old and still playing. I'm looking for excuses to laud his skills, even if the excuses are lame. In my eyes, a player who may still be playing at 50 can do no wrong--only right. Well, almost.

I would not have felt this way a couple years ago before hitting middle age.

Hey. Genius. Try and understand:

This has nothing to do with Kaz's hot start. I was saying this before the season started.

Booing a home player is, if anything, going to cause his play to suffer. The fact that anyone, anywhere, thinks it's better for a player to start on the road shows how stupid booing is.

Please. Think before you post. You can do it.

So first you say "see booing is dumb because kaz is playing well on the road" and then you say "this has nothing to do with how he's playing"? well which is it?

you're quite full of it (and of yourself.)

Talk to me when Matsucky has 300 ABs

The last time that happened, he batted .272 with 32 doubles. Not all-star numbers, but hardly shit and just fine for a 7/8 hitter.

he wasnt signed to be a 7/8 hitter, i've gor a great 8 hitter named jeff keppinger for league minimum, theres also woodward.
he was signed to be a GG SS and a good 1/2 hitter, he has failed MISERABLY in that regard as evidenced by the fact that we are now speaking of him as a 2Bman and an 8 hitter.

i like the statistical cherrypicking, so i'll do some too. he has, in 804 PA, a .700 OPS and an 82 OPS+, everyone says he's below average as a defender and thats at a position he wasnt even signed to play after displacing our top prospect (at the time) and sucking at SS for a year.

These numbers are acceptable (though by no means good) for a #8 hitter 2Bman making league minimum, but thats not what he was signed to be.

wow, smoltz just gunned that ball to 1st... shouldnt he have let chipper make the play?

Sir. My first post does not mean: "booing is dumb because kaz is playing well on the road". It means: "booing is dumb because it takes away the home field advantage, in that a player would rather play on the road."

I don't know how else to explain it. Maybe I shouldn't have said morons in the first post, because that was uncalled for, inflamed emotions, and is exactly the problem the CPF has been having lately. In fact, this may end up in the RLF. But I do think my entire point has passed completely over your head. And I don't know how else to explain it.
