The Mets start off the final leg of this road trip in style with a victory over the longtime nemesis, the Atlanta Braves. The return of shortstop Edgar Renteria to the Braves line up was not enough to overcome Pedro Martinez and the Mets. Pedro's seven strong innings of work wwere just the lift the Mets needed to start this series. Duaner Sanchez continued his brilliance in the set up role with a perfect 8th inning. Billy Wagner struck out the side in the ninth, but still found a way to make things exciting. Amid the strike outs, Wagner gave up a pair of singles and a hit batsman.

Jose Reyes opened the game with a walk and opened the scoring on a sacrifice fly by David Wright. David Wright provided all the power the Mets needed tonight with a pair of solo shots

Here's hoping that the Mets continue pillage their Braves in their little house of horrors known as . A six pack of Sweet Georgia Browm Ale for the POTG.

That beer seems to have one of those little gadgets you put on the big hole in the 45 rpms on each bottle

Normally I'd Vote for Pedro, but Mr. Wright's two homers and three RBI's made him The Man last night.

Yea. That's what it looks like to me too. Maybe because "Sweet Georgia Brown" is a song from the 45 rpm era? It kind of makes me nostalgic although those things were a pain in the butt to pop in.

Exercise your right to vote. This was a great game to start the Atlanta series.
