Very good QB who attempted to intercept a nickname from the most Terrific of Toms calling it a day after 22 seasons.

To stipulate, I hate Tom Brady. But he's the best quarterback and possibly the best football player in NFL history. He led the league in passing yards and touchdowns this year at age 44.

Re: Tom Brady Retiring

As a very sure NFL fan, wow there are some very big name quarterbacks calling it quits this year

Rothlisberger being the best of course!

Seriously though there are some dynasty teams coming up for some leaner years

He may not have been the best player ever, but I feel about Brady the way I felt about Chipper Jones. I respected his ability but disliked him for what he did against my team and the smirk on his face when he did it.

Is ESPN suspending all regular programming for the next week so as to have more time to analyze the ramifications this will have on the NFL, domestic tranquility, and Russian/Ukrainian peace?

That will depend on which teams win the playoff games tomorrow.

But, you're right, they do need programming to fill the void created when both Brady's and Rogers' teams lost last week.

Re: Tom Brady Retiring

On his podcast ("Let's Go") Brady stated "I'm still going through the process" regarding his possible retirement. Brady is he is still looking at his options and hasn't decided about next year yet.

Guess the guy that paid a half-million bucks for his final TD football is not

a happy camper right now with Mr. Brady.

Tom Brady has unretired.

Apparently he decided he wants to spend less time with his family.

I'm hoping he has a shitty season, just to tarnish his career. A lot of guys hung on one season too long, and I hope he's one of them.

Re: Tom Brady Retiring

Well between Bledsoe and Brady that's like a half a lifetime for me of

rooting against a great Patriots QB. Am I remembering correctly that

Brady got his first shot when Jets Mo Lewis pummeled Bledsoe? Not

only did he hit him so hard that he was concussed but also suffered

some internal bleeding and had to be rushed to the emergency room?

Been a lot of years, my memory banks may be re-writing that football

tale just a bit.

Was indifferent to Brady until I heard he was linked to MAGA.

Then I hated him.

Later he said, the Brady-Trump relationship was mischaracterized.

Anyway. As ceetar would say, meh.

Re: Tom Brady Retiring

Reminds me of a story a friend who worked at the Port Authority told me.

A very nasty Vice President announced they were retiring.

200 people showed up at the retirement party - 4 to say good-bye and 196 to make sure the SOB was really leaving.

From the comments above, I have a feeling several CPF-ers (myself included) would be among the 196 at Brady's farewell.

Brady also represents the last Montreal Expos draft pick still 'active'.

A LH-hitting catcher in HS, Montreal selected him with their 18th round pick in 1995

I read somewhere that Daltrey and Townshend are coming out of retirement

again and Brady is gonna tour with them on drums. The Who, with Brady!

Re: Tom Brady Retiring

I met him once, in the time between last U of M game and before he started his NFL career. He was nice to me and my son. Signed a photo of him in his U of M uniform.

Glad to see he is able to go out on his terms, and not because of a career-ending injury.

This is silly. It's not like Mike Brady is retiring. That would be some shit.

I don't recall whether Richard Nixon got this much press when he quit his job.
