Being a country girl, I'm not too cool to bring up the weather though I know some of you must be getting like two feet of snow and are surprisingly mum about it We've had very little snow this year but just enough for my very experienced driver son to total his car because of unplowed roads. A five inch storm should not have been that bad. What I want to bring up is (cripes I love watching it snow from 200 miles away on a weekend when hopefully all my friends are home) that I've been feeding the birds/deer/outdoor cats/whoever wants it/ twice a day now for a week and every time I go outside it gets colder and colder and colder Worst of all my Master Gardener mentor tells me that although it hasn't been above 20 in about 10 days, the ticks ain't dying The little bastards Just 30 degrees might lead to a backyard May pole dance at this rate

These bitterly cold Saturday mornings have made for some mighty uncomfortable runs with my run club. We meet each Saturday at 8 AM for a group run through a rotating series of neighborhoods and we've had three straight weeks now where it was in the single digits or lower. Makes for some cold business!

My driveway is a skating rink. And it is 100 feet long, sloped upward toward the street from my house. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my car to the street by March. (much) Later
