Inaugural IGT: Mets vs Nationals, April 7, 2022. TBD vs. Corbin

I tried to figure out who "TBD" might be, but the Mets have never had any player with those initials. So I have no idea who's starting for the Mets tomorrow. Weather permitting, of course. The Weather Channel's hourly forecast as of now, on Opening Eve, has it raining pretty much through the 6 o'clock hour, which may mean that the game could be delayed by about three hours. We'll see...

TBD is actually going to be TJM (Tylor J. Megill) according to the latest reports.

Yanx already called off their game vs BRS in Bronx for tomorrow. Forecast must really be bad since they usually only call off games that far in advance if they don't like the pitching match up.

I'm pretty sure Tylor Megill, opening camp as the #6 starter, if he indeed gets the ball tomorrow, would make him the Mets Opening Day pitcher with the least amount of juice since ... ever?

At least they'll be well fed. This is a great Brazilian barbecue place in DC. Eduardo Escobar took the Mets, including staffers, to dinner at Fogo De Chao last night. Around 70 people were said to have attended.

TWO every Friday (the next Mets game is June 10) and they are exclusive, as are the Sunday Peacock games (the Mets are only scheduled for one, June 26).

McNoo in left and Cahna in Center and Canó at second is defensible and stuff just doesn't seem to correspond to the way Buck was using them in spring training.



Something about Dom Smith won't allow him to crack an opening day lineup.

I don't know mine enemy that well. - That would be Cesar Hernandez, long of the Philadelphias - We know who Soto is - the just-signed 62 y/o Nelson Cruz - long, tall Josh Bell. Trying to keep him out of the OF as much as possible is my guess. Not that he's a good fielder at 1B - not Chico, but Keibert Ruiz, a 23 y/o Venezuelan who was a major cog in the Scherzer/Trea Turner deal last summer - Lane Thomas (26) came over from StL last year for Jon Lester's last hurrah - more ex-Phillies, that's Makiel Franco - Alcides Escobar, ex of KC and Milwaukee. Acquired last year and is replacing Trea Turner - Victor Robles. Still can field, still can't hit - and we know Patrick Corbin So that's a start anyway.

I didn't get to watch this, but after last season's defensive woes it is uplifting to see that 8 of the 9 batters in the starting lineup had at least one hit and that five different batters had an RBI.
