Among the items buried in the new CBA is a clause allowing a tied All-Star Game to be determined by a home run derby.

So the players lifted after the third inning can't start pounding beer in the clubhouse, lest they be need in extra time.

The sad part is that it's a tacit acknowledgment that the derby is a preferable exhibition to actually playing the game the way All-Star Games are played.

Okay but the home run derby contestants have to face the best available pitcher from the opposing team. And they can strikeout.

To placate the NL, the HR tie-breaking derby should be pitchers v. pitchers.
