Unfortunately, aside from toughness and hustle, he doesn't really have a role to play.

Only injuries (to others) justified getting >300 ABs for a guy with a .277 OBA and OF defense which was good but no longer elite.

I usually associate 11 with infielders, but he was totally an 11.

15 homers was good, and a few came at big moments, but a .692 OPS is not what I would call a “pretty good contributor.” He was also on the wrong side of the Baez thumbs-down issue.
