Predict the day

Alonso is now 4th on HR leaders at Citifield, 25 HRs behind Duda. Can you predict the date he will hit HR #26 this season?

For tiebreakers (you'll need a schedule to do this part), which pitcher will he hit it off, and on what count?

You expecting Alonso to hit at least 26 HR's at home this season?

Good point. Maybe this thread is premature.

Although, it's not impossible. In 2019, he did it both home and away.

But salvageable. Predict the day that Jake deGrom throws his first major league pitch of this season. The pitch that counts. Not some exhibition game pitch or some minor league rehab stint pitch.

When's deGrom returning? Come the closest and win a prize.

Ever drive a car fast, and top 100 MPH? Not just any car. Some creaky sort of car that even in top condition, probably wasn't made to be driven that fast even though you could, technically, top 100 MPH on its speedometer? I did. When I was younger. The car kinda rattles a little and you don't feel like the steering could quite hold at the precision you'd need it to hold at. If you tried that, you wouldn't wanna do it for more than three seconds, and definitely only on a straightaway. If you had to turn at that speed in a car like that, you wouldn't make it out of that turn alive.

Anyway, that's what deGrom throwing those 101 MPH fastballs reminds me of, sometimes. On the inside, his body's barely hanging on when those heaters are unleashed.

Somewhere between Ben Grimm's prediction and Lefty Specialist's.
