Transgender woman wins Division 1 swimming championship. Controversy erupts.

I honestly don't know the solution for this. I fully support transgender rights. I hate the DeSantis proposed legislation, and feel for everyone who has had to live with this burden and all the baggage that comes with it. We have to make every effort to err on the side of inclusion.

That being said, it's hard to argue the genetic advantage transgender women have over cis women. Is that fair? I don't know. They're talking about monitoring testosterone levels etc. But what if a cis woman has naturally high levels of testosterone?

Where I'm not conflicted is that this issue needs to be dealt with compassion and reason. And everyone needs to remember there is a young woman who has been through a lot at the center of this.

Re: Lia Thomas

1. a cis dude would still need to be a damned exemplary athlete to beat the best DI women straight up.

2. ain't no dudes out there switching over for the sake of winning womens' glory

3. nobody lost a penny of winnings.

4. this is otherwise INCREDIBLY complicated, and i have no good answers.
