When you're good, you're good. And ... here's Mike Trout tripling on a checked swing.

Ronald Acuna to return to the Braves tonight, his first game since tearing up his knee in the OF last July.

They managed OK without him.

He had like 20 hits in 10 ABs during his brief rehab stint with about 25 going for extra bases.

We'll miss Wheeler this weekend as he's busy one-hitting the Rox thru 6 this afternoon. 3-0 Phils, top 7

The 2nd place (9-8, 3.5 GB) Marlins looking for the sweep in DC as they lead the (6-14) Nats 2-1 in the 7th

Braves (8-11) and Cubs for the rubber game of their series tonight.

Hard to believe this year is the 30th anniversary for Camden Yards 'already.'

Drury is batting fifth.

Of course, that happened two or three times with the 2021 Mets.

Camden really started two trends: building ballparks that weren't ugly and building lots and lots of ballparks. In the 20 years after it opened, 20 teams built new parks. a trend that finally slowed down in the past 10 years where i think only 3 have opened?

The most important trend it started was ball teams returning to central city locations.

It's still a genuine pleasure every time I go. Great fans, great genuine ballpark experience, and if there's a bad seat in the house, I haven't found it.

Nationals Park not so much, but I like getting the chili.

Or, as many sports owners would call the 30 year anniversary of their stadium, an aging heap that needs to be replaced

immediately (with public money of course) or threats to leave will follow.

There are some less than ideal sight lines at Camden: awkwardly angled seats near the LF corner and some OF seats

where chunks of the OF are out of view. But, for the most part, those are minor nits to pick.

The reversal of the suburb-ination of stadium building was definitely its biggest legacy. Only Atlanta/Cumberland GA

recently has been the exception unless you think of Arlington Texas as kind of a mega suburb.

It remains to be seen how Oakland and Tampa eventually get resolved.

.122 / .278 / .135 // .413.

How sad to learn that this is Alcides Escobar's line through his first 90 plate appearances this season.

Sorry. My mistake. That's Joey Votto's line through his first 90 plate appearances this season.

Three RBI! Three!

Votto had a solid season last year at age 37 following two more mundane ones prior to that. You'd have to figure sss on his stats being That low now but who knows.

Turns 39 at the end of this season and has one more guaranteed season plus a club option/buyout for '24
