Is Carrasco's warmup music really Bryan Adam's Summer of 69?

Holy crap! If the Dom Doubles Machine has been plugged back in, then the sun is shining brightly on Metland.

I realize there were two guys one, but Cookie was being way too cute pitching to the ninth-hitting backup catcher with two out.

Olson should have gotten a triple on that hit.

Carrasco looking mean on that strikeout of Ozuna.

Let's see if he can get out of this.

There's Alonso's homerun stroke!

Man, he can keep going the other way all year at this rate.

Yup. 72 is a decent total for five innings.

And now he's got a slightly bigger lead.

Ozuna's swing is a potential menace to catchers.

He looks like he's going to conk them with his follow through each time.

Mets have kind of given getting the leadoff guy on a bad name these last few innings.

Leadoff homers excepted.

With Jankowski already in the game, is Buck willing to use Marte as a defensive replacement for Canha?

First game, SNY shows 3 older women enjoying the game.

Second game, SNY shows a big guy yawning.

Braves still have d'Arnaud on the bench if the lineup gets to Contreras.

Travis Demeritte is a 27 y/o with barely 200 ML ABs to his name and he doesn't get PH'd for when they need a baserunner to bring the tying run to the plate?!?

I think maybe Snitker gets a demerit for not hitting for Demeritte there.

Better yet, the entire DH, including the between games break, took under 6 hrs!!!

I didn't think that was still possible these days.

Amazin'. No mid inning pitching changes in either game. Plus a visit from Steve j. Rogers

I was thinking about that. Demeritte was hitting .313 going into that plate appearance. That may be a sample size thingie (32 at-bats) but it's not nothing considering the uncharacteristically slow start most of this lineup has endured.

They had d'Arnaud, Heredia, and Orlando Arcia on the bench. I got the idea that d'Arnaud was being held back to pinch-hit for Contreras two batters later.

So the main alternative was to send d'Arnaud up for Demeritte and use Heredia or Arcia if they were able to keep it going.

I don't know. But you're bringing a strong pun game.

Re: IGT 5/3/2022 (2): ATL@NYM — 6:45 PM Higher

I hung the decision not to PH on Snitker simply to get the pun in, but my initial thought was that Atlanta's bench must be either thin or

short (or both) if they're opting not to hit for their part-timer/9th place hitter in that situation.

OF Eddie Rosario seems to be the only bat on the IL but he owns a .307 lifetime OBA plus was 4/43 in '22 even when he was healthy.
