How many for the StL pitcher who buzzed Nimmo earlier in the game on a pitch that was more up and more in than the one to Arenado?

A hunnert Cranes says that Yoan appeals and his suspension gets cut to two days. I've come to think that these suspensions are often made longer than they are supposed to be, because the appeal so frequently leads to a halving of the original suspension. I also reckon that initial suspensions are now regularly doled out in odd numbers, to make it harder to cut in half on appeal. If it was four games, the independent arbitrator would wake up and be all "Yawn, um ... cut it in half. Now gimme my money." By making it three games, MLB forces the arbitrator to come down primarily on the side of one party or the other.

I remember on the broadcast the announcers being dismayed that they were not tossed after the HBP following the warning. Perhaps the new plan is to leave them in the game and suspend later? Throwing them out means a new pitcher has to come in cold and take as long as he wants to warm up, taking forever.

Yeah, right. I suppose a pitcher could go all Dock Ellis on LSD on steroids with high fructose corn syrup

thrown in and deck the next 10 batters and still remain in the game because, heavens to Betsy, God help us all if the new pitcher gets to warm up for as long as he likes.

I wonder what would happen if a pitcher comes in to replace an injured pitcher and then doesn't stop warming up? What if hes warming up for like 45 minutes? Or three and a half hours? And then the ump finally tells him to stop with his warmups and to "Play Ball!". If I was that pitcher and I wanted to continue warming up, what I'd do is to then plunk the umpire right between his eyes. Because then apparently, the ump wouldn't be allowed to throw me out of the game all because my replacement pitcher would get to warm up for as long as he likes. And God help us all then. The world might explode if that pitcher could warm up for as long as he likes. That would also be a neat rain delay trick if my team needed to delay the game hoping it'd eventually get called on account of the rain.
