The Mets celebrate their anniversary in yearbook style.

Re: The 2022 Yearbook

Looks cool. I have (or had) every yearbook/programs from 1962-Shea's closing and

then Citi's inaugural yearbook. I decided to stop collecting when the Ol' Girl shut.

I may buy this just because of the 60 for both Mets and me come August.

I like that they have Bobby V in disguise on there, and Wilmer pulling the heartstrings, Bartolo's homer!. Seems a little short on the 1960s. Is that Ashburn along the bottom?

Is that a fold-out cover, with another page of moments?

Overall, a beautiful effort!

I'm missing 1962, which has now soared far beyond affordability. But have at least one version from every other year.

Is Bartolo's the only shot with the road grays?

And Nimmo.

If the Wilpons put that cover out, you wouldn't see the Durocher black cat. Instead, Rey Fraudonez would be on the cover.

That's Marvelous, not Ashburn.

If the Wilpons put out that cover, Jeff Wilpon would be on it.

Marvelous is also in the road grays. You just can't see it.

Oh crap. He's on the cover. To the left of Harrelson. In the road grays. And black. I thought Cohen had better taste.

What's your problem with Rey Rey?

What's your problem with Rey Rey?

He sucked, big time, but was hyped like he was Willie Mays. And his fielding, which admittedly, he was very good at, was way overrated to the point you woulda thought he was better at fielding than Babe Ruth was at hitting. He was a liability. Which means that the more he played, and he played every fucking day, the more he hurt the Mets. And then, in classic archetypal Wilpon fashion, it was a PR fiasco that convinced ownership to finally dump the scrub, not that he was killing the Mets over 3,000 plate appearances. He probably singlehandedly kept the Mets out of the 1999 WS.

Re: The 2022 Yearbook

Most glaring omissions?

Rusty Staub? Lee Mazzilli? Ron Hunt?

Most appearances (it figures) Gary "Camera" Carter.

Unlikeliest inclusion(s)?

Dom Smith?

Re: The 2022 Yearbook

Ron Hunt is there (there's a key inside the yearbook). Directly above Endy — half a face at the top.
