Bob G. Miller, lefty roommate to and namesake of righty Bob L. Miller has died at 86 (May 24), making it two fewer 1962 Mets this week in this 60th-anniversary year.

Bob is #30 deceased from 1962. That's 30/45. Two thirds are gone now.

Prior to his death, he was the 13th oldest living Met. Now, Dave Eilers moves into the Top Twenty and Lou Klimchock moves into the Top Forty.

I'm pretty sure it was the other Bob Miller who was distinguished by Casey Stengel's favorite nickname, but I like to think the Joe Girardi paid tribute to Bob G. this evening by calling the bullpen and saying, "Get Nelson up."
