It always seemed (my impression) that the Mets struggled the first time they faced a pitcher. It sounds like this new machine will address that problem. They will have the opportunity to see his stuff before they face him. Or, they'll be able to work on hitting deliveries from pitchers against whom they have struggled. Sounds interesting. Is this actually delivery or just pitch repertoire? It was interesting how novel a pitcher who makes his money with the splitter seemed to be last night. You'd have thought Alonso had never seen the pitch before.
