I'm flying solo here as Alonso rips the first pitch into a 6-4-3 double-play to end the feint-at-a-rally in the fifth. Nice hit, but run deep counts, Mets.

Any chance Medina could be a starter instead of Williams? He's certainly got the stuff, and Trevor fails more than he succeeds.

He's definitely had plenty of experience. But Williams may not be called on the next time through the rotation, depending on how quickly and how well Bassitt recovers.

Williams doesn't throw hard but he's been surprisingly effective. 4pm starts are weird. either play a day game or wait until night so I"m not as busy.

I never have much faith in a Mets victory when they have to start Trevor Williams. He is essentially the 8th option and has proven to be pretty ineffective in the role he has had thrust upon him. Scherzer, Bassitt, DeGrom (oh to dream), and Megill can not get back soon enough.
