The Eastern League is riddled with strangely compounded animal names. Binghamton Rumble Ponies, Hartford Yard Goats, New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Portland Sea Dogs, Reading Fightin' Phils, Somerset Patriots, Akron RubberDucks, Altoona Curve, Bowie Baysox, Erie SeaWolves, Harrisburg Senators, Richmond Flying Squirrels. Unfortunately, marketers mostly have come to the conclusion that minor league baseball is kind of an embarrassing burlesque of an enterprise and have decided to lean into that and encourage teams to sell themselves as such.

Scherzer threw 80 in his last start with Bingo. I'd like to think they'd amp up his limit from there. I'm guessing his target for that start was 75, and the next step is 90. But, but, but, it's probably more likely that the organization would consider just pitching in the bigs to be amping up enough and keep him at a 75 target.

I had high hopes for Matt Reynolds at one time. Was a good hitter who could play shortstop at a big kollege (Arkansas) and Mets/Sandy made him a pretty high pick

I don't understand why anyone throws J.D. anything other than a steady diet of fastballs up in the zone. He just seems clueless and over matched by fastballs up in the zone. McCann just looks clueless and overmatched by virtually all pitches.

The Reds AAA team had Hunter Green Nick Lololo and Micheal Lorenzen at the same time. Lorenzen is in the Angels rotation this year.
